Bob Thomas

Hello to all,

This is to inform all those who knew my Dad, Bob Thomas, that he will no longer be able to receive or answer email. Dad fell on May 14, 2014 and was unconscious until the next day when he was able to reach for the phone and dial 911. He came down with an acute case of pneumonia and other complications which has led to an extended hospital visit. With Bob's age and weakened condition, the various treatments he underwent was not able to overcome his situation. At the great age 90 years young, Dad passed away this day, May 27th, 2014, at 9am this morning.

For all those who knew Bob personally the pain of his passing will be much felt. For a man who could hold back his emotions, he was able to touch and affect all those around him in ways that left the impression that Dad was a man who really cared. Dad's generosity is attested from his children and loved ones over the years to the piles of mail and correspondence received from the miraid of organizations he donated.

This email is being sent from Dad's computer and will be the last that you will receive from his account. Bob did not want a service held in his name and none will be held. There is no place to send flowers or condolences. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make any donations to the Hospice House of Mountain Home. If any feel the need to remember Dad, then you tell those who knew him, or may not have known him, how much he loved flying. Dad spent his entire life around airplanes and flying; it was just a few weeks ago ago taking his "Baby" up for a ride.

Dad was a man who lived a full life and would say he had few regrets. Steve and I (Jeff) his two surviving sons, longed for our Dad to contemplate the shortness of this life in the light of the creator God whose purposes are known to us through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. The things of this earth and our time here are fleeting, there can be no greater joy than to rest in the love of our creator.

Steve and I often shared with Dad the love of God, and so we share it with you.

"for God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:16-17

Bob was loved by many and his passing will be felt in the hearts of all those who knew him.

Sincerely, Jeff and Steve
